Danae Renieri is a photographer who holds a Master of Arts in Photographic History. Her studies and several employment and volunteer experiences enabled her to develop skills in image editing, retouching, preserving photographic materials, cataloging, digitizing, creating metadata, exhibiting photography and fine art printing. She has a passion for photography, a customer service mentality, is detail-oriented, patient, reliable and full of energy. Available for freelance projects.

Services

Photography

Professional photography services including on-location, lifestyle, family, intimate wedding, newborn, portrait, event, corporate, and interior natural light photography. Open to working as an assistant photographer.

 

Retouching

Edit and prepare photographs for print or for the web using Adobe Photoshop, always paying attention to detail to ensure the best results.

Send files up to 2GB at a time via Wetransfer.

 

Scanning

Prints, negatives and slides in formats up to 20 x 25 cm (8 x 10 in) can easily be scanned using a high-end flatbed photo scanner.

 

Preservation

Organization and rehousing of private, personal or family photography collections using archival enclosures.

Twice a year, instruct a 4-week online course on the Preservation of Photographic Materials, intended to help anyone whose responsibility is to care for a collection of photographs.

Understood the significance of photographs as historical evidence and embraced their materiality, learning to view them both as images and as objects. Properly handled a range of photographic materials and learned to identify the major historic photographic processes. Explored digital humanities by digitizing photographs, creating metadata, building a database and creating an online exhibit. Learned to identify and critically evaluate the key factors designers take into consideration in museum and exhibition design. Produced independent work in a research context by using photographs as a primary source. One of four postgraduates, nominated by her tutors, to be awarded the Vice Chancellor’s Distinguished Student Award.
